Favorite cookware
Great Jones Cookware
You likely recognize Great Jones cookware from your Instagram feed, where it regularly shows up on the stoves and countertops of cookbook authors and food influencers alike. Their flagship item is the Dutchess Dutch oven, but the brand has expanded far beyond that into a decent array of technicolor bakeware, sheetpans, skillets and more. They are hosting a major sale site-wide, with deals up to 50% off.
Caraway cookware
Caraway cookware is another popular direct-to-consumer cookware brand that nails it on the visuals. They feature ceramic nonstick surfaces on the majority of their products, and have recently expanded into storage containers and other wares for organization. They have a pretty good smattering of sales up on their website and on Amazon, with a few we’ve singled out below.
Lodge 10-Inch Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Skillet
Lodge is the main name in the cast-iron game for a reason. This classic cast-iron cookware is built to last, and extremely inexpensive. It has one of the best cost-per-use ratios of any pieces of cookware you’ll buy—you can pass this thing down to future generations, provided you care for it properly.
More Lodge Cookware
Our love for Lodge cookware doesn’t stop at cast iron skillets—their enameled cast iron Dutch ovens are a favorite among BA staffers, too. With a regular price of $115, this 4.5-quart Dutch oven already offers a big bang for your buck, and right now, you can scoop it for 40% off. We also can’t talk about Lodge without mentioning their griddles (which you 10000000% need).
Made In Nonstick Pan
Five-ply stainless-steel sets this nonstick cookware apart from other models, which are usually made with aluminum cores. Recipe production assistant Carly Westerfield has owned this pan for a long time and can speak to its even heating and durability over time—pancakes come out evenly browned, and frittatas slip right out after they set.
More Made In Cookware
Nordic Ware Sheet Pan
This sheet pan has repeatedly won our tests and been crowned the best of its category. Even if you already own one, stock up on a few extras at a discount to get you through cookie swaps this holiday season.
More Nordic Ware
Plus, find more bakeware from the trusted brand, including a festive holiday Bundt pan.
Le Creuset Dutch Oven
If you skipped shopping Prime Day sales to save up for a Le Creuset Dutch oven, now’s the time to save big on that iconic piece of cookware. You can take one home in multiple sizes at a discount ahead of Black Friday. Note that Le Creuset deals can be kind of tricky in the sense that not every color goes on sale; we’ll just be linking to one color for each size here, but there are multiple options available on sale, so be sure to click through the options to check if your favorite color is discounted.
More Le Creuset Deals
Plus, find a few deals on other items we love from the French cookware brand, including a gold knob to make your current oven look fancier.
Staub Cocotte
There are a few differences between Staub cocottes and Le Creuset Dutch ovens. Staubs have a black enamel interior, whereas the coating on Le Creusets is light in color. Le Creusets tend to encourage more evaporation than Staubs, which have tight-fitting lids that trap moisture inside. But both are well made and will last a lifetime.
More Staub Deals
Like Le Creuset, Staub makes a variety of ceramic and enameled cast-iron kitchen wares, like casserole dishes and serving bowls. Find a few on sale now:
Our Place Always Pan
Staff writer Ali Francis is a big fan of the Internet-famous Always Pan, and you can get it at a major discount right now during the brand’s Black Friday sale.
Our Place Perfect Pot
Digital operations associate Alma Avalle had a bit more complicated feelings about the Perfect Pot when she reviewed it. It’s certainly not as perfect as the name would lead you to believe, but there are definitely some reasons to shop for this pan at a discount. It’s great for kitchens short on space because it’s so multifunctional and it looks great as a serving vessel. Read the full review for more info.
More cookware from Our Place
Hestan Culinary Nano Bond Skillet
BA food director Chris Morocco reaches for his Hestan NanoBond Sauté Pan more than anything else in his kitchen. Its molecular-bonded titanium coating makes it incredibly durable and very good at conducting heat. It’s on sale for 20% off, along with the rest of the NanoBond, CopperBond, and ProBond products.
More deals from Hestan:
If you want to go all in on this stellar cookware, we absolutely recommend it—but going for a whole set comes at a hefty price, even with a $600+ discount.
Material Cookware
We love so much stuff from Material Kitchen: recycled cutting boards, magnetic knife stands, and sturdy-as-hell kitchen shears, to name a few. Today through November 28, you can shop their biggest sale of the year and score up to 25% off sitewide. (Bonus: For every purchase you make at this sales event, you have the opportunity to direct a portion of your savings to Apex for Youth.)
Serax X Sergio Herman
The many Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman designed an extremely haute line of cookware for Belgian brand Serax, and there are a few pieces currently on sale right now at Ssense. These pots and pans have an undeniably utilitarian look with the slick lines of minimal Scandinavian design.
Smeg Cookware
Smeg is best known for their retro home appliances, so you might not realize that they also make cookware. These are unique pieces of cookware that would make a great gift for the culinary aesthete in your life.
Countertop Appliance Deals
KitchenAid Classic Series Stand Mixer
If you’re looking for a holiday gift for a friend who’s just moved into their first home, a KitchenAid stand mixer is, of course, a classic—and the Classic Series is the most classic version of the appliance. Get the classic tilt-head model for a full $100 off right now.
KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer
The Artisan series is different from the Classic in just a few ways: You can purchase it with a stainless steel or a glass bowl (the classic only comes with stainless), it’s available in more colors than the Classic, and it has a 5-quart capacity compared to the Classic’s 4.5. Both are tilt-head models.
KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
The main difference between tilt-head and bowl-lift mixers is the capacity. KitchenAid’s Professional series bowl-lift mixers come with 7-quart capacity bowls, which means they’re able to accommodate dough for 13 dozen cookies, eight loaves of bread, or eight pounds of potatoes. If you’re short on counter space, this isn’t the model for you, because it’s taller and bulkier. But if you’re routinely baking in large batches, this could be the upgrade you need—especially because it’s a whopping $200 off at Target right now.
KitchenAid attachment deals
KitchenAid’s attachments mean that your stand mixer can turn into a pasta maker, meat grinder, or vegetable shredder. We’ve tested all of the attachments, and they all work well. Read how we ranked them over on Epicurious.
Ninja Max 5.5 Quart Air Fryer
The Ninja Max XL Air Fryer won the top spot as our favorite basket-style air fryer when we put a bunch of models head-to-head. Most air fryers reach temperature maxes of 400°F, but this model has a “max crisp” button, which actually simply turns the temperature up to 450°F. But it’s true that the setting gets you crunchier food—and faster. It also has a dehydrate function. And one small design feature makes the appliance easier to clean than its competitors: Instead of a basket, this air fryer containers a “crisper plate” that allows for maximum air circulation. It’s easier to remove and scrub than a basket.
Cuisinart Food Processor
Shopping for a new food processor? Consider this 14-cup Cuisinart. It’s the BA test kitchen’s preferred model. If you do a lot of meal prep or you’re chopping-averse, we know you’ll love it too. Take $50 off right now.
More Cuisinart deals
Cuisinart’s appliances generally fare well in our product testing: The brand’s immersion blender was our budget pick in our product test. And we love the air fryer toaster oven specifically as an air fryer—but not so much as a toaster oven.
Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro
Over on Epi, we reviewed this addition to what was already a pretty saturated market in terms of countertop ovens that can air fry, toast, dehydrate, and so much more. We found that it just might be the best in its category. It’s certainly one of the only “smart” appliances we recommend. Read the full review to learn more.
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer
Breville, quite simply, makes our favorite toaster ovens—or rather, combo air fryer–toaster ovens. This one has an air-frying basket in addition to convection cooking ability. You might end up using it more than your full-size oven (seriously).
More Breville Deals
This is the brand that wins our product tests more than any other, and we trust basically anything it makes to function extremely well, be exquisitely designed, and be built to last.
Vitamix Blenders
Some of the best Vitamix blenders are on sale right now, including the 5200 used by BA’s test kitchen and entry-level models like the E310 Explorian Blender. Both are great options that we absolutely recommend, but if you want a comparison shop, head this way for our full run-down on all the Vitamix models. There’s also a deal on a glitzy gold version of the Ascent series Vitamix. This blender isn’t more powerful than the 5200, but it comes with tons of smart features, preprogrammed settings, and the ability to use a whole host of attachments. If you don’t think this is one of the best Black Friday kitchen deals out there, we don’t know what to tell you.
More deals from Vitamix
Vitamix makes attachments for the higher-end series of its blenders—attachments that turn the powerhouse machine into a personal blender or a food processor. If you already own an Ascent series or Venturist series Vitamix, you should snag some of those attachments on sale now and make your machine more versatile (and therefore a lot more bang for its buck).
Instant Pot Duo 6-Quart Multi-Cooker, Red Stainless Steel
This is the most classic Instant Pot model and the best one for beginners—in a spunky red color that isn’t so classic but might be right for someone on your holiday shopping list. (Funky aunt, maybe?) This thing is a pressure cooker and a slow cooker, and it generally does everything you want an Instant Pot to do.
More Instant deals
Score Instant Pot attachments that make the world’s most versatile machine even more versatile, like a mesh steamer basket or silicone molds that allow you to replicate those beloved Starbucks egg bites.
Smeg appliances
Smeg is an Italian brand famous for their retro-style appliances with a knack for pulling focus on the counter top. If we had to pick just one of their many items though, the toaster is probably our favorite. It’s cheeky without being too much and comes in a ton of different colors.
Aarke Carbonator
Here’s a secret: The vast majority of countertop soda makers function in the exact same way, and they only really differ in their appearance. With that in mind, know that Aarke carbonators are by far the best-looking soda makers on the market. They do cost a pretty penny, which is why it’s a good Black Friday kitchen deal to take advantage of.
Coffee and espresso deals
Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker
The Café Specialty Coffee Maker is a machine for hard-core coffee connoisseurs who want to optimize their brew to the highest level. What does that really mean? You can change both the temperature and the brew strength of your coffee to make it exactly customized to your preferences. Choose between Light, Medium, Dark, Bold, or “Gold” brew, which Café has identified as the best option for most people. Speaking of gold, the Café has received the Golden Cup from the Specialty Coffee Association.
Breville Barista Express
If you waited patiently for Breville’s espresso machines to go on sale, you’re in luck. The Barista Express is a long-time tested favorite, and it has a built-in grinder, which means you won’t have to spend extra money on a grinder that does espresso well. Breville’s multipurpose ovens also factor well in our product tests year after year.
Nespresso Single-Serve Coffee and Espresso Machine
We don’t recommend every single-serve coffee maker, but there’s no shame in the Nespresso machine game and if you’re debating between Nespresso and Keurig, we think you should go with Nespresso. It is, quite simply, the very best way to get coffee and espresso quickly—at the best quality. Is it right for coffee nerds who want to labor over the perfect shot? No. Is it a game changer for people who appreciate espresso with lovely crema and delicate flavor and are running out the door every morning? Yes. Pick up a few Nespresso models at a discount right now. And our guide to selecting the very best one for you.
Trade Coffee
“If you’re just dialing in your coffee game, Trade is a one-stop shop with hundreds of good options,” says BA contributor Lauren Joseph. She appreciates them for their wide selection of beans from craft coffee roasters and their commitment to ethical sourcing. Their very approachable brewing guides are nice, too. This Black Friday, Trade is offering 15% off subscriptions and up to 30% off Trade-exclusive Holiday Boxes.
Large appliance deals
Ooni pizza ovens
We’ve reviewed every Ooni pizza oven and have positive things to say about all of them. Choosing the right one for you is really about personal preference. The Fyra 12 is fueled by wood pellets—while other Ooni models use gas, charcoal, or firewood (or a combination of all three in the case of the Karu). For Black Friday take up to 30% off Ooni’s ovens. Who says you can’t have a pizza party for Christmas?
Refrigerator deals
Wayfair is offering up to 40% off on major appliances like refrigerators—including mini fridges that are perfect for stocking beers and seltzers for holiday guests. And at Home Depot, Samsung is offering up to $1,500 off of refrigerators.
Other appliance deals
Find a few favorites below, including countertop ice makers for better cocktails, and microwaves and chest freezers for saving and reheating all of those Thanksgiving leftovers.
Food storage deals
Zwilling Fresh & Save System
You might think that vacuum sealing is incredibly high maintenance, requires a big bulky system and rolls of plastic film. That is true for some systems, but not for the Zwilling Fresh & Save set. The cordless vacuum pump fits in your hand, and it comes with reusable glass or plastic containers that won’t compress and smush whatever you put inside. Writers Alex Beggs and Wilder Davies have both tested it out and both found the system to be highly effective at extending the life of fresh produce, particularly berries and herbs.
OXO Good Grips 16 Piece Smart Seal Leakproof Glass Food Storage Container
When it comes to food storage, we believe in opting for glass over plastic. Multiple food editors, including test kitchen director Chris Morocco, recommend this set from Oxo. They do not shatter easily, and seal extra tightly. They can be pricey, so opting for a full set at a discount is smart.
Stasher Reusable Silicone Storage Bags, 4-Piece Bundle
Let 2023 be the year you officially kick your single-use plastic habit. With silicone Stasher bags, anything is possible. It won’t be long before you fill them with cookie dough balls for the freezer and use them for sous vide steak. Snag this four-pack for 20% off during Prime Day.
